ABOUT THE PROJECT

In order to promote the 2013 Ford Escape, ROKKAN, with Team Detroit and Profiles, developed the world's first primetime Social TV experiment, Escape Routes: one party reality TV show on NBC, one part social media engagement, and one part gaming experience on escaperoutes.com.  As a the lead experience designer, I was tasked with understanding the physical production of the show, and other client-side limitations, while still creating the most interesting experience that encouraged fans to play along and be actively involved in influencing the show's outcome.

I worked with content strategists to come up with the game mechanics, architected the user and gameshow flows, and designed the user experience on escaperoutes.com, working with junior interaction designers, visual designers and the in-house developers to see the project through to execution. This was a truly unique project that brought the small screen to the second screen in a completely innovative way.
